Why Trevor Williams changed his jersey number

Anybody who has a passing familiarity with Trevor Williams’ Twitter account knows that he’s got a good sense of humor, a love of memes and a propensity to play jokes on his kid.

This week, though, the Pirates’ affable right-hander used his platform to announce a special gesture: He’s decided to switch jersey numbers from No. 57 to No. 34 — the latter worn by Cory Hahn, his former teammate and roommate at Arizona State University.

I will now wear #34 on my back.
