On the eve of the Pirates’ first game after the All-Star break, Pirates fans in Pittsburgh will have the opportunity to watch one of baseball’s iconic movies Thursday night at PNC Park. Fans can purchase $5 tickets to watch “The Sandlot,” which begins at 8 p.m. and features discounted food and beverages.
It’s a movie that ranks among many Pirates players’ favorite baseball movies, but there is far from a consensus inside the clubhouse.
Second baseman Josh Harrison couldn’t pick just one favorite baseball movie but he whittled his list down to three: “Major League,” “The Sandlot” — “That’s a classic,” he said — and “Angels in the Outfield.
