The Pittsburgh Pirates Short Season-A affiliate, the West Virginia Black Bears, wrapped up their twelfth home series of the season Saturday night. The Black Bears hosted the Mahoning Valley Scrappers. The Scrappers are an affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. The Black Bears entered the series with a record of 34-30, while the Scrappers came into the series with an 28-34 record.
Game 1
Game one on Thursday resulted in a 7-2 win for the Black Bears. The Black Bears bats were hot early. In the top of the first, Christian Kelley and Ty Moore singled followed by walks to Daniel Arribas and Ryan Nagle which scored Kelley.
