The Pittsburgh Pirates Short Season-A affiliate, the West Virginia Black Bears, wrapped up their final road series of the regular season Monday night. The Black Bears headed to Mahoning Valley to take on the Scrappers. The Scrappers are an affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. The Black Bears entered the series with a record of 39-34, while the Scrappers came into the series with an 31-41 record.
Game 1
Game one on Saturday resulted in a 10-3 win for the Black Bears. The Black Bears bats came out swinging early. Mitchell Tolman, Christian Kelley and Ty Moore each singled and eventually scored to start the game off with a three run lead.
