The Eastern League named their All-Star team for the 2016 season on Saturday afternoon and both Erich Weiss and Eric Wood were named to the team. The Altoona Curve sent four players to the mid-season All-Star game, though neither Weiss nor Wood were selected for that game.
Weiss is currently hitting .279/.352/.414 in 118 games, with 21 doubles, nine triples and six homer. He has played solid defense at second base, posting a career-best .979 fielding percentage and showing improved range. Weiss ranks just outside of the top ten in the league in hits and total bases. He's third in the league in triples.
