CINCINNATI -- For the second time in three days, the Pirates were done in by a Reds grand slam. On Thursday afternoon, Ivan Nova had only himself to blame.
Nova issued a leadoff walk to pitcher Luis Castillo, allowed a single, then committed his second fielding error in as many starts before giving up a slam to Eugenio Suarez in the third inning. Nova served up another homer to Jesse Winker in the fifth as the Pirates lost to the Reds at Great American Ball park, 5-4, their fifth defeat in the last six games.
