After closing the first half of the season on a high note, the Pirates dropped their second straight game to kickoff the second half, losing 8-5 in Milwaukee on Saturday to the Brewers.
After beginning to warm up in the bullpen prior to the game, expected starter Francisco Liriano felt some stiffness in his neck, was scratched from the start, and he was replaced by Vance Worley.
The Pirates got Worley some support early, scoring three runs on four hits in the first inning. They also took advantage of some Brewers miscues to get the early start.
