On Sunday afternoon, the Pittsburgh Pirates finished off a three-game sweep of the San Diego Padres. In addition to this, two key starting pitchers in the organization made rehab starts on Sunday and both starts went well.
Pitching for the Triple-A Indianapolis Indians, Jordan Lyles was looking to take a step toward rejoining the Pirate starting rotation on Sunday afternoon. By all accounts, Lyles did just that.
Lyles pitched 5 1/3 innings for the Indians on Sunday afternoon. He allowed just 1 run on a pair of hits. The lone run he allowed came on a solo home run.
