DETROIT -- Friday's wild Opening Day contest between the Tigers and Pirates took another crazy turn in the 10th inning, when what was initially ruled a game-winning single from JaCoby Jones became an out at home plate on replay.
The reversal sent a 10-10 game into the 11th inning at Comerica Park.
Jones, who homered in his first career Opening Day last year in Chicago, entered the game in the seventh inning as a pinch-runner for Victor Martinez. He stepped to the plate with two outs in the 10th after Nicholas Castellanos beat out a potential double-play grounder at first base.
