On Saturday afternoon, the Pittsburgh Pirates (8-9 ST) and Detroit Tigers (7-10 ST) met in Lakeland, FL for a matinee affair, a commonality during Spring Training.
The Pirates trotted out Tyler Anderson (0-0), while the Tigers opted for Matthew Boyd (0-1). Indeed, it was a matchup of lefties to begin the ballgame.
In the fourth inning, it was Colin Moran who broke open the scoring. Phillip Evans scored when Moran found a hole up the middle, putting the Pirates ahead 1-0.
The Tigers, however, promptly answered In the next half inning, thanks to veteran slugger Miguel Cabrera hitting his first home run of the spring; it was a solo job that knotted the game, 1-1.
