The rare stinker

When you go to PNC Park these days, you don’t expect…well, that. The Pirates are a pretty good bet at home to give us something fun to watch every night – but it’s just that: a good bet, not a guarantee. There’s still going to be the occasional awful game, and that happened on Sunday.

Charlie Morton was, eh, OK I guess. The big hits the Rockies got probably weren’t awful pitches, and he mostly cruised in every other inning. His hilariously bad error that cost the Pirates two (fortunately meaningless) runs, though…welp. He technically gets credit for a “quality start”, but I wouldn’t really call it that.
