MILWAUKEE — The Pirates will open their 2018 season in Detroit against the Tigers, according to the schedule Major League Baseball released Tuesday.
Every team will begin play Thursday, March 29, marking the first time all 30 teams will open at once since 1968. The Pirates’ home opener is Monday, April 2 at 1:05 p.m. against the Minnesota Twins.
The Pirates drew the AL Central in interleague play next year. After those first two series, they get the Tigers at home at the end of April, face the Chicago White Sox at home and on the road in May and head to Cleveland in July.
