Taillon shuts out Reds on one-hitter

PITTSBURGH -- Before Sunday's series finale against the Reds, general manager Neal Huntington and manager Clint Hurdle echoed one concern with the performance of their young starting rotation: They need to start pitching deeper into games. Jameson Taillon didn't wait long to take care of that.

Taillon, the emerging ace of Pittsburgh's staff, finished off a one-hit, seven-strikeout complete game in the Pirates' 5-0 win over the Reds on Sunday afternoon. It was the Pirates' first complete-game performance since Ivan Nova shut out the Marlins last April 29 and the Bucs' first individual one-hitter since A.
