PITTSBURGH -- With the remnants of Tropical Storm Gordon rolling through southwestern Pennsylvania on Sunday, the Pirates postponed their scheduled 1:35 p.m. ET series finale against the Marlins at PNC Park.
The Pirates made the announcement around 9:20 a.m. ET, well before game time, as the forecast called for a 100 percent chance of rain throughout the day. They have rescheduled the game for Oct. 1, one day after what would have been the final day of the regular season, at a time to be determined.
Right-hander Trevor Williams had been scheduled to face Marlins righty Jeff Brigham on Sunday.
