Yesterday I wrote about how Steven Brault could be the exception in regards to starting pitchers being promoted to Indianapolis before having a full-season of innings in Altoona. There's a big reason for this, and it involves Brault's advanced stuff, which have led to some advanced numbers in Altoona. That was on full display during the month of August, when the left-hander put up an 0.93 ERA in 48.1 innings, with a 34:11 K/BB ratio and an 0.85 WHIP. That performance was enough for him to be named our Pitcher of the Month for the month of August, which also included stats from the first week of September.
