Starling Marte Named Finalist for Gold Glove Award

Rawlings announced the finalists for the Gold Glove awards on Thursday afternoon and for the third straight year, Starling Marte was named as one of the three finalists for National League left fielders. He is the lone finalist from the Pirates. Marte won his first Gold Glove last season, after losing out to Christian Yelich in 2014. Yelich is up for the award again this season, as is Adam Duvall of the Cincinnati Reds.

Marte played 114 games total in left field this season, seeing 220 fewer innings this year at the position than he did in 2015, so that could hurt his chances.
