On the mound
Righty A.J. Schugel left the game in the fourth inning because of shoulder discomfort. Jacob Stallings visited the mound after a walk and signaled for athletic trainer Bryan Housand.
“Honesty I would have gone out there probably four pitches before I did, but with the new visit rule, I don’t want to burn a visit,” said Stallings, referring to the new rule limiting mound visits to six per nine innings (which includes exceptions for injuries or potential injuries).
“I could tell he wasn’t quite right. I didn’t know if he was still trying to get loose or what was going on.
