The Pittsburgh Pirates could be reimbursed $2.6 million for upgrades to PNC Park more than a year after the team had threatened legal action in a dispute over who was responsible for the improvements.
Pittsburgh-Allegheny County Sports & Exhibition Authority board members are expected to vote Thursday on whether to authorize the reimbursement to the team for the upgrades, which already have been made to the North Shore ballpark.
The $2.6 million would come from a capital reserve fund set up to help maintain PNC Park. The money would partially reimburse the Pirates for upgrades to seating, an out-of-town scoreboard, and field lighting.
