The key to the Pirates success could be out for a little bit.
Early Sunday, the Pirates placed potential Rookie of the Year 3B Ke’Bryan Hayes on the 10-day disabled list.
Hayes left Saturday’s game against the Cubs with a wrist injury and was replaced early in the game by Erik González, who played the remainder of the game at third.
Despite the MRI’s coming back negative, it appears Hayes will be sidelined for the forseeable future.
In order to add some infield depth, the team added infielder Wilmer Difo from the taxi squad.
