The Milwaukee Brewers announced on Tuesday afternoon that they have claimed right-handed pitcher Rob Scahill off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates. Scahill was designated for assignment when the Pirates claimed Eric Fryer back on July 3rd.
Scahill had a 4.41 ERA and a 1.47 WHIP in 16.1 innings over 15 appearances this season. Last year, he posted a 2.64 ERA in 30.2 innings over 28 appearances, though he had a 1.60 WHIP, so the ERA was a bit deceiving.
