Report: Matt Joyce agrees to two-year, $11 million deal with Oakland Athletics

The Oakland Athletics have reached an agreement with outfielder Matt Joyce, according to a report from FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal. The move takes another Pirates free agent off the board.

The deal is reportedly worth $11 million over two years, which is nearly identical to the contract utility man Sean Rodriguez agreed to with the Atlanta Braves, pending a physical.

Joyce joined the Pirates last spring as a non-roster invitee. He made the opening day roster and excelled as their fourth outfielder. He rebounded from a career-worst .564 OPS in 2015 to post a career-high .
