SAN DIEGO -- Two games between the Pirates and Marlins at Puerto Rico's Hiram Bithorn Stadium on May 30-31 are are on track to be played as scheduled, as all parties involved look into concerns regarding the Zika virus.
"We believe the games will be played as scheduled, and we are having ongoing conversations with the CDC [Center for Disease Control and Prevention] to alleviate the players' concerns," said Pat Courtney, MLB's chief communications officer.
The games, the first two of a four-game series between the teams, will be played in Puerto Rico as part of the league's recognition of Roberto Clemente Day.
