FORT MYERS, Fla. — Jameson Taillon rifled a line drive to shallow right field and busted it out of the box. Nearly a month remains until opening day, but Pirates starters are hitting, and Taillon had experience with this sort of thing.
“That’s what I told [Minnesota Twins first baseman] Logan Morrison,” Taillon said. “I said, my first potential big-league hit, I got thrown out at first from right field. Then my actual first big-league hit was a hit to right just like that. In my head, it was a fool me once, fool me twice type thing.
