PITTSBURGH -- Gregory Polanco hit an RBI double in a three-run sixth inning and a tie-breaking RBI single in the seventh to lift the Pirates to a 5-4 victory over the Cubs on Thursday, and split the four-game series.
With the game tied at 4 and one out in the seventh, the Pirates had runners at second and first when Polanco lined a single to left off lefty Phil Coke.
The Cubs gave starter Kyle Hendricks a 2-0 lead in the second on Jonathan Herrera's two-run triple in the second, but Sean Rodriguez answered with a solo home run in the Pittsburgh half.
