Jeff Karstens spent five seasons with the Pirates and officially retired from baseball in 2015. Not only did he spend time with a lot of guys who were still members of the clubhouse in 2016, but he pitched on teams that in 2011 and 2012 that, like the 2016 group, got off to decent starts only to sputter in the second half to miss the playoffs and finish under .500. With that in mind, the Post-Gazette Sports Podcast thought he'd be a great person to talk to about the season that was, as well as some of his memories from his time with the Pirates.
