Freddy Sanchez was a solid infielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates during the mid-to-late 2000s. In 2006 and 2007, Sanchez put up overall strong numbers. In 1,285 plate appearances, Sanchez hit .323/.360/.457 with a 111 OPS+ and wRC+. Although he did not walk very often, owning a 4.9% walk rate, and did not hit for much power hitting just 17 home runs and having a .133 isolated slugging percentage, he didn’t strike out much, having the 22nd lowest strikeout rate andhe racked up 95 doubles. 53 of those doubles came in 2006 when he also won the National League batting crown.
