Like any team in contention, the Pittsburgh Pirates were in a handful of trade rumors. Any team looking to compete would do.
Most of the rumors the Pittsburgh Pirates were a part of were for outfield capable sluggers. One of which, and the most prominent was Giancarlo Stanton. The then 23-year-old right fielder was seen as an outstanding young slugger.
