In 2012 the Pittsburgh Pirates drafted an outfielder by the name of Tyler Gaffney in the 24th round of the MLB draft. Gaffney was coming off a strong three years as a baseball player at the University of Stanford. Gaffney played in a total of 159 college games for the Cardinal, but he also played three years of football for the University. He obviously was a standout on the baseball field, but also had a relatively solid football career too.
