Seth McGarry was an eighth round pick out of Florida Atlantic University. From the get go, McGarry was considered a projectable back end of the bullpen type arm. Still, the Pittsburgh Pirates are the type of organization to give their young pitchers a chance to start before converting them to a more limited bullpen role.
