The Pittsburgh Pirates could have yet another solid arm waiting in the wings, as pitcher Braxton Ashcraft is looking better than ever following his promotion to Triple-A.
The last game Ashcraft played with Double-A Altoona saw him set a career high in strikeouts in what would end up being a milestone day in his young career. Despite early struggles and giving up three runs in the first inning, Ashcraft would battle back and retire 12 opposing batters, upping his league lead in whiffs with 22 with the Curve.
That performance earned him a promotion to Indianapolis, and he did not disappoint in his Indian debut.
