The Pittsburgh Pirates have help on the mend for their bullpen. On Tuesday, the Pirates sent Carmen Mlodzinski and Colin Holderman on rehab assignments to Triple-A Indianapolis. They also started the rehab work for second baseman Nick Gonzales.
Holderman threw a single inning on Tuesday, allowing a solo homer for his only damage. Mlodzinski followed with a scoreless inning of work. They both pitched after Ryan Borucki made his second rehab appearance, with a scoreless inning.
Gonzales played five and a half innings, starting at second base and going 1-for-3 at the plate.
