David O'Brien from the Atlanta Journal Constitution is reporting that the Pittsburgh Pirates have traded right-handed pitcher Shane Carle to the Atlanta Braves for a player to be named later or cash. Carle was designated for assignment on Sunday when the Pirates needed two 40-man roster spots after the Gerrit Cole trade. Carle, who was originally drafted by the Pirates, had only been back with the Pirates since January 4th when they picked him up off waivers from the Colorado Rockies.
Since this is a player picked up off waivers, you may not hear about the return in the deal because it will be minimal at best.
