The Pittsburgh Pirates have traded pitcher Adonis Medina to the New York Mets for cash considerations. He was designated for assignment yesterday to make room on the 40-man roster for catcher Andrew Knapp. Medina was scheduled to start yesterday’s game in Indianapolis, but rain caused that game to be postponed, so he never got a chance to pitch a regular season game with the Pirates after being picked up off of waivers from the Philadelphia Phillies just 22 days ago.
