PITTSBURGH -- With their first top-10 MLB Draft pick in five years, the Pirates selected outfielder Travis Swaggerty from South Alabama.
Swaggerty, MLB Pipeline's No. 11 Draft prospect, is a left-handed hitter who went undrafted out of high school. The 20-year-old junior, standing 5-foot-11 and weighing 180 pounds, bats and throws left-handed. He hit .296 with a .455 on-base percentage this spring.
DETROIT -- Casey Mize has spent three seasons wearing the burnt orange and navy blue of the Auburn Tigers. On Monday, the gifted young right-hander became the newest hope of the Detroit Tigers, whose colors should suit him quite well.
