The Pirates looked to get back on the winning track when they traveled home to begin a home stand on Wednesday. They have been a dominant team at home over the last five years, and this season started no different, following the sweep of the Cardinals. The visiting Tigers had different plans in mind however, and they took the second game to complete the two game sweep of the Pirates. Gerrit Cole, pitched pretty well in the game, but was credited for the loss.
The Tigers got the scoring started in the fourth inning, as both Cole and Tigers starter Jordan Zimmermann both looked sharp on the mound early on.
