Pirates starter A.J. Burnett's All-Star bandwagon begins to build

WASHINGTON — Even with the 2015 All-Star Game three weeks away, there has been little speculation in the Pirates clubhouse about who will represent the team at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati. The way Tony Watson sees it, the Pirates, currently the second-best team in the National League, “have too good a thing going” to think ahead.

A.J. Burnett hasn’t said a word about it, either, but the 38-year-old right-hander with a 6-3 record and 2.05 ERA in 14 starts this season could be in line for the first All-Star appearance of his 17-year major league career.
