Pirates sign outfielder Patrick Kivlehan to minor league deal

According to Pirates Prospects (sub. req’d), the Pirates have signed outfielder Patrick Kivlehan to a minor league deal. Kivlehan spent 2018 with the Diamondbacks, Mets and Reds organizations. He got 14 plate appearances in the majors with Arizona, and otherwise spent his time in AAA. Most of that time was with Las Vegas, a high-offense environment where he batted 314/372/588, with 20 home runs. Kivlehan has also seen time in the majors with the Reds and Padres during the 2016-17 seasons. Altogether he has 242 plate appearances in the bigs, with a 208/302/401 line, including ten homers and a 32% strikeout rate.
