The Pirates continued their massive spending spree by signing outfielder J.B. Shuck to a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training. Schuck has been all over, compiling a weak 244/294/316 line in 1232 plate appearances scattered from 2011 to 2018. He got into 70 games with Miami last year, posting a .486 OPS. He’s played all three outfield positions, including a lot of time in center, although UZR doesn’t seem to like his defense all that much.
