Pirates Rocked in San Diego, Drop Second Straight

The Pirates pitching woes continued on Wednesday night, as Jeff Locke struggled against the Padres. Overall play, not just by the pitching led to the non-competitive game.

Last season, especially early on, the Pirates pitching staff- in particular the starters, were able to keep the team in just about every game, even as the offense was mired in an early season slump. This season, the opposite has held true for the most part. The pitching as a whole has been erratic and inconsistent, which has put a strain on an offense which in large part has been pretty consistent.
