According to multiple sources, the Pirates have resigned Sean Rodriguez to a one year deal. The deal is reported to be worth $2.5 million plus incentives. The club will likely make an official statement tomorrow following his physical. Rodriguez will fill the role of super utility fielder, most specifically as back up infielder, following the departure of Neil Walker, and the rehab of injured 3B Jung Ho Kang.
While Rodriguez does provide a bit of flexibility from the field, quite frankly, he was brutal last season at the plate.
