The Pittsburgh Pirates announced their 2017 Spring Training schedule on Tuesday morning. Due to the World Baseball Classic, the spring schedule begins a little sooner than normal and they play a total of 34 games. There are three days off during the schedule.
The Pirates open up on February 25th with two split squad contests, one at McKechnie Field against the Orioles and one on the road against Tampa Bay. The Pirates and Orioles will play a total of six games against each other, with four of them being held at McKechnie.
Of note on the schedule, March 8th is a game at home against the Dominican Republic WBC team.
