LOS ANGELES -- The Pirates recalled right-hander Dovydas Neverauskas from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday, adding a fresh arm to their worn-down bullpen.
To make room for Neverauskas, the Pirates optioned right-hander Tanner Anderson to Triple-A a day after his big league debut. Anderson allowed six runs (five earned) on eight hits and two walks over two innings in the Pirates' 17-1 loss to the Dodgers on Monday night.
Neverauskas last pitched for Indianapolis on Saturday, so he will be available to work multiple innings, if necessary.
