ARIZONA — The Pirates recalled hot-hitting corner infielder Jason Rogers from Class AAA Indianapolis before Friday's game, optioning utility man Cole Figueroa to Indianapolis to make room on the active roster.
Rogers, acquired from the Milwaukee Brewers in December for prospects Keon Broxton and Trey Supak, started the season batting .366 with four doubles and three homers in 10 games for Indianapolis.
Rogers, who last night went 2 for 4 with a solo home run in a road game against Class AAA Louisville, has made three starts apiece at first base and third base and five at designated hitter.
