If the Pittsburgh Pirates held some sort of competition to find out who is the most athletic player in the system is, J.C. Flowers would absolutely be in the running for it.
He may also be one of the most versatile players in the system.
Last year in Altoona, the former Florida State Seminole did just about everything as a member of the pitching staff. Whether it be starting, closing, long relief, high-leverage situations, whatever it was, Flowers did it.
Now in Indianapolis he’s getting a chance to do that again, as just five appearances into the season he’s already seen playing time in the second inning, all the way to the eighth.
