Bubba Chandler is one of the most promising arms in the Pirates system, and you could maybe make the argument he has the highest ceiling in the system.
This year is the first time he’s focused solely on pitching, and he’s doing it in a hitter-friendly league at High-A, all the while doing it as a 20-year-old.
There were always going to be struggles, and here we are with Chandler having a more than ideal bloated ERA, with over 30 walks in 46.2 innings this season.
We’ve seen flashes, including his most recent outing on Tuesday, seeing him strikeout eight in five innings, allowing just one run and one walk while surrendering six hits overall.
