Paul Skenes looks ready for the big leagues, following a six shutout inning performance for Indianapolis on Tuesday night. The 2023 first overall pick threw 75 pitches, allowing four hits, one walk, and striking out seven.
This was the first full stat line for Skenes, who had been limited in pitches and innings during his first five starts. It was also a very efficient outing for him, throwing 12.5 pitches per inning, after a lot of 20 pitch frames in his first starts of the year.
Skenes threw his four-seam 29 times, averaging 99.8 MPH with the pitch, and topping out at 101.
