Patrick Reilly threw five no-hit innings for the Greensboro Grasshoppers on Friday, leading the High-A team to a 5-0 victory.
Reilly was drafted in the fifth round last year out of Vanderbilt, and features promising stuff from a middle round college pitcher. The right-hander has a fastball that sits mid-90s, along with a sinker, cutter, slider, and changeup. He’s dealt with control issues in his career, but he works quickly and changes pace well with his stuff, making him difficult to hit.
Reilly has a 4.95 ERA in 36.1 innings across nine starts this year.
