Jared Jones looks like he’s ready for a return to the big leagues.
On Tuesday, the right-hander threw five shutout innings in his latest rehab appearance for Indianapolis, allowing one hit, one walk, and striking out ten.
Jones sat 97.6 MPH with his fastball, hitting 99.5. He had nine whiffs on 24 swings against the pitch, along with six called strikes for a 39% called and swinging strike rate. His slider had six whiffs on 14 swings, with three more called strikes for a 38% CSW. He also threw eight curveballs and three changeups, with the curveball getting four called strikes.
