Anthony Solometo had his best start of the season for Altoona on Saturday night.
The left-handed pitcher threw six shutout innings, allowing three hits, one walk, and striking out six. It was the first time all year that he pitched six innings in a start, and the third time he threw scoreless ball for Altoona. The previous two times were outings of four and three innings, and both featured three walks.
Solometo has struggled this year with his control, but has put up better results in his last two starts. He’s walked two in ten combined innings, with two earned runs.
