Lambo placed on the DL
The Pirates placed Andrew Lambo on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to May 4th) due to plantar fasciitis in his left foot and called Steve Lombardozzi up from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Lambo has just one hit in 27 plate appearances this season, while Lombardozzi currently ranks second in International League batting (.379/.460/.483).
This move basically represents a change at the bottom of the roster and likely won't be of much consequence. I still find Lambo an interesting enough prospect based on his underlying contact numbers, and Lombardozzi is unlikely to provide a Josh Harrison-like shot in the arm.
